Family Medicine, also known as Family Practice or General Practice, is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for individuals, families, and communities across all ages, genders, diseases, and parts of the body.  Often family medicine is emphasized on disease prevention and health promotion.  It is the first stop for many patient ailments or sought after at the first sign of disease or illness.  

Family physicians are vital to the everyday health of patient’s.  Many family physicians and advanced clinical practitioners deliver a range of acute, chronic, and preventative care needs across a vast healthcare spectrum encompassing pediatrics, geriatrics, internal medicine, OB/GYN, mental health, emergency medicine, and palliative medicine.

Physician Assistants (or PA's) and Nurse Practitioners (or NP's) are licensed clinicians, also referred to as Advanced Clinical Practitioner’s or Mid-Level Practitioners. PA’s and NP’s are skilled healthcare professionals with advanced education and clinical training qualified to practice medicine under the supervision of a licensed Physician.  PA’s and NP’s are certified by the State of California, Department of Consumer Affairs for Medical Quality Assurance.  PA’s and NP’s are required to maintain certification and re-certifications through continuing medical education and skills advancement.  PA’s and NP’s play a huge role in the healthcare industry today and at Vista Complete Care.
